Rumi Terms of Service
Effective October 5, 2026
Rumi is an AI agent that helps stores and their customers with financing, payments, and other financial tasks on WhatsApp and other messaging services, on our websites, and in our apps. These terms apply to Stores that use Rumi for their business and to Shoppers who use it for themselves.
By accepting these terms, including through an authorized representative, the Store or Shopper agrees to them.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
Rumi is provided by Grupo Rumi LLC, a Delaware limited liability company (“we” or “us”), 570 Pacific Avenue, San Francisco, California 94133, USA. You can reach us at support@rumi.shop or +1-RUMI-800162 (+1-786-480-0162). In Mexico, you can reach us at Gutenberg 60, Colonia Verónica Anzures, Alcaldía Miguel Hidalgo, C.P. 11300, Ciudad de México.
About Rumi
Rumi uses AI. It helps carry out your instructions and explain your options. It can make mistakes, so review what it shows you before you confirm it. Its explanations are not financial, legal, or tax advice. Rumi currently serves only the Mexican market.
Rumi is not a lender and doesn’t make loans, decide applications, or set loan terms. Lenders do. Any loan you take is a contract with the lender on its terms. The lender is responsible for its decisions, terms, disclosures, and service. Some lenders may be affiliated with us. Rumi can’t guarantee approval or particular loan terms.
Rumi is free to use. Your mobile carrier’s charges still apply.
Who uses Rumi
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract.
A “Store” is a business that registers with Rumi. If you register or use Rumi for a Store, you confirm that you’re authorized to act for it. When you act for a Store, the Store is the party to these terms.
A “Seller” is a person a Store adds to use Rumi on its behalf, such as a clerk. The Store must ensure that its Sellers follow the rules that apply to its use of Rumi and is responsible for what they do when using Rumi for the Store.
A “Shopper” is a person who uses Rumi for their own personal use, such as financing a purchase.
If you use Rumi in more than one role, the terms for each role apply to that use. For example, a Seller using Rumi at work acts for the Store; the same person using Rumi for a personal purchase acts as a Shopper.
Your responsibilities
- Give us accurate information, and keep it up to date.
- Share only information you have the right to share. Before giving us someone’s contact details, get their agreement for Rumi to contact them.
- Keep your WhatsApp account and any Rumi links secure. We may rely on instructions sent through your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect someone is using it without your permission.
- Follow the law and the lenders’ rules, and treat other people with respect.
- Don’t misuse Rumi. For example, don’t use it to commit fraud, to apply in someone else’s name without their permission, to copy or scrape it, to interfere with it, or to reverse engineer it.
How Rumi acts for you
Your instructions. Rumi acts as your agent on your instructions, including submitting applications and documents and accepting loans you approve. Before committing you, we ask you to review and confirm the action.
Applications. Before submission, the Shopper must personally review the application and selected lenders, accept these terms, give any required privacy consent, and approve submission. Rumi sends the approved application to those lenders and may collect and pass on authorizations they require.
Help from a Seller. Stores must have the Shopper’s permission to share their information with Rumi. When a Seller helps with an application, the Store must let the Shopper review and approve it as described above.
Lender information. Lenders supply and control offers, statuses, and terms, which may change or arrive late. Rumi may compare options using your request and available information; we don’t guarantee coverage of every lender or the best offer. Check the lender’s final terms before accepting.
Connected accounts and customer information
Connected accounts. Whether you’re a Store or Shopper, you authorize Rumi to access the lender, bank, and other financial accounts you connect and act for you on your instructions. This may include retrieving records, sharing them with selected lenders, and helping you manage finances. We use information from those accounts as described in our Privacy Policy.
Existing records. Stores are responsible for required notices and permissions for sharing customer records with Rumi and the uses described in our Privacy Policy.
Customer information. Stores must use Shopper information they receive from Rumi solely to help with the Shopper’s requested transaction and limit access to Sellers who need it. Stores may keep and use their own records on an independent lawful basis.
Information handled for Rumi. If we ask a Store to handle personal information for us, it must follow our instructions, use it only for the assigned task, keep it secure and confidential, report suspected breaches promptly, and help with privacy requests. The Store may involve outside providers only with our approval and must require them to follow these protections. Other sharing must follow our instructions or the law. The Store must delete information held for us when requested or when the task or relationship ends, unless retention is legally required.
Information and intellectual property
You keep your rights in your information and content. You authorize us and our affiliates to use, copy, and share your information and content, including personal and financial information, as described in our Privacy Policy and subject to any required consent. Marketing is subject to your separate choices. We may use feedback you send us without any obligation to you.
Rumi, and everything we build for it, belongs to us or our licensors. These terms don’t give you any rights in Rumi beyond using it as they allow.
Copyright. We respect copyright and expect you to do the same. Send copyright complaints to our copyright agent at copyright@rumi.shop. We close repeat infringers’ accounts when appropriate.
If there’s a problem
What we promise. We’ll provide Rumi with reasonable care. Rumi is still improving and will sometimes make mistakes or be unavailable.
What we don’t promise. Beyond reasonable care and what the law requires, we make no other commitments about Rumi, including its availability or accuracy. We aren’t responsible for lenders’ decisions, offers, terms, delays, or errors, or for the independent acts of lenders, Stores, or Sellers, including how they handle information. You’re responsible for what you confirm. These exclusions do not limit our mandatory legal obligations.
Our liability. These terms don’t limit our liability for fraud, gross negligence, willful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit. Otherwise, we’re liable only for breaches of these terms, to the extent the law requires.
If you’re a Shopper, these terms don’t limit rights that the law where you live does not allow us to limit.
If you’re a Store, we aren’t liable to you for lost profits, revenues, business opportunities, or data, or for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you for all claims in any 12-month period is limited to US$250. You’ll also defend and indemnify us (which means you’ll cover our losses and defense costs) against third-party claims that arise from your connected accounts, from information you or your Sellers give us about other people, or from your breach of these terms.
Service changes
You can stop using Rumi at any time. Reply “STOP” to an offer to stop marketing messages, or tell us to stop all WhatsApp messages. Stopping messages does not close your account or delete your information. The Privacy Policy explains account closure, deletion, and other privacy requests. You can disconnect connected accounts; authorized Store representatives can also remove Sellers.
Rumi will keep changing. We may add, change, or remove features, or stop offering Rumi, and we’ll give notice where we reasonably can. We may also suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if the law requires it, if you’ve been inactive for a long time, or if we reasonably believe that continued use would harm someone. We’ll tell you why unless the law prevents it or doing so would compromise security, fraud prevention, or an investigation. We will respect any notice, consent, or other protections the law requires. Ending your access doesn’t affect any loan you already have with a lender.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes in Rumi or the law, or to prevent abuse or harm. If a material change affects you negatively, we’ll give you reasonable advance notice, unless the change is required by law or is urgent for security. Where the law requires your agreement, we’ll ask for it before applying the change to you. If you don’t agree, you can stop using Rumi and close your account without penalty.
Disputes
If you have a problem with Rumi, contact us and we’ll try to resolve it. For problems with a loan or a Store’s goods or services, contact the lender or Store directly. Shoppers do not have to contact us before exercising their legal rights.
Shoppers. The laws of the country where you live govern these terms, and its competent courts have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes about them. In Mexico, the competent courts of Mexico City or of your own domicile may hear your claim. These terms do not restrict your right to contact a consumer protection authority.
Stores. California law governs these terms, and disputes are resolved by arbitration under the next section. If a dispute goes to court, the state and federal courts in San Francisco County have exclusive jurisdiction.
Arbitration with Stores
This section applies only to Stores.
Talk to us first. Before starting a formal claim, send us a written notice describing the problem and what you want; we’ll do the same for claims against you. We’ll work together to resolve the dispute within 60 days after the notice is received, including at least one conversation between people with authority to settle. If that fails, either side may start arbitration.
Arbitration. Any dispute between us will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Commercial Arbitration Rules. The arbitration will be seated in San Francisco, California, conducted in English or Spanish at your choice, and heard by video conference unless the arbitrator decides an in-person hearing is needed. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this section. Either side may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court in San Francisco County, or go to the state or federal courts there solely for injunctive relief to stop misuse of Rumi or protect intellectual property. Requests for urgent relief need not wait for the 60-day discussion period.
No class actions. Each of us will bring claims only on an individual basis, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, or representative proceeding. The arbitrator can’t consolidate claims or award relief for anyone other than the parties in that arbitration. Only a court, not an arbitrator, may decide whether this paragraph is enforceable. If a court finds it unenforceable for a claim, that claim will proceed in court, and the rest of this section still applies to other claims.
Many similar claims. If 25 or more similar claims are filed against us by the same or coordinated counsel, you and we agree that the AAA’s Mass Arbitration Supplementary Rules apply, that the claims will be heard in batches of up to 50, and that the limitations period is paused for claims awaiting their turn. Each claim remains an individual arbitration with its own decision. If a claim hasn’t been assigned to a batch within 12 months of filing, that claimant may go to court instead.
About these terms
These terms are the whole agreement between us about Rumi. If any part of them can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don’t act right away when you break these terms, we can still act later. You can’t transfer your rights under these terms to anyone else. We may transfer ours to an affiliate or a successor, and we’ll provide any notice required by law.
